Isabella Viglietti This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it 082 786 8098 Isabella Viglietti was born in Tanzania of Italian parents. The family emigrated to South Africa in the late sixties when Isabella was just a few years old. She has grown up and been schooled in South Africa. Although she has lived in many parts of the world, she considers South Africa her home. Isabella has been a ceramic sculptress and muralist since 1991. Although she has a famous artist or two in her Italian parentage, she is self taught and has worked as a professional artist for most of her working career. She has been commissioned to do many private pieces and her work has been exhibited and sold in galleries in South Africa, Los Angeles, New York, Germany and London.
She co-owned her own Gallery in the Tsitiskama from 2002. In 2007 she re-located and left the Cape for Gauteng. Since then she has changed mediums from clay to laminated cement.
With this new and advanced cement technology developed by Cemcrete, she has expanded her field to create and reproduce original and exclusive lines such as furniture, door panels, wall hangings, to name but a few.
She still does private commissions and original one off art pieces. She has held her first exhibition in this medium last year, which was sponsored by the SA Importers of Ferrari and Maserati and held in their showroom in Cape Town. Her next exhibition is on the cards for later this year (2009).
Isabella also teaches the creative and commercial application of the very wide and versatile range of Cemcrete Products. Her courses are held at the Cemcrete Ideas Centre in Gauteng and, by arrangement, at private venues in other parts of the country. |
