Description A specially designed cement-based plaster mixture for rapid thin application to brickwork and blockwork to fill the joints and other imperfections economically.
Purpose To provide a level base for the application of Cemcrete’s CemWash, Thermoplastic Coating, StippleCrete, Texturite Roughcast to walls constructed with bricks or blocks.
Types One type only.
Applications Recommended for affordable housing to dispense with expensive conventional plastering. SpecifyingCemcrete’s Plaster Cote as a levelling base coat for the final finishing coat.

Storage In unopened sacks on slats in a dry shed for 3 months.
Surface Preparation • New brickwork No preparation except damping down the clean hard masonry.
• Previously coated workSurfaces previously coated should be chipped thoroughly and wire brushed to remove all loose material. When dry the surface should be slushed with a solution of 1 volume CemBond and 3 volumes water mixed with neat cement and allowed to dry for a minimum of 2 hours. |
Mixing Plaster Cote should be mixed with a solution of 1 volume CemBond and 5 volumes water.
Application The mixture in the bucket should be sloppy and pourable. Hold the steel float against the wall at 45o and using a miller’s scoop pour the mixed slurry between the trowel and the wall at the same time moving the trowel upwards so that the slurry fills the joints and imperfections but does not build up a thickness of plaster greater than 2mm on the bricks. After allowing a short setting time the surface should be wood floated.
Curing Cure all completed Plaster Cote by wetting with clean water three times the next day. Specimen FinishA trial area should be treated on site for the architect’s approval.
Coverage Approximately 10m2 per 40kg sack if not exceeding 2mm thick and 1.5 litre concentrated CemBond.
