GweGwe Beach Lodge | Eastern Cape
Honouring the Eastern Cape's traditional design language, GweGwe Beach Lodge's architectural concept was inspired by the traditional rondawels of the local region. Lisa Rorich Architects embraced these circular forms throughout the structure of the lodge, even incorporating the local culture and spirit by creating spaces which encourage communal living.

Colour Hardener in a mix of Mocha Java and House Blend is used throughout the lodge, a timeless flooring choice which grounds the space. The natural mottling and character of the surface brings a simultaneously earthy and refined element to each room.

CreteCote Microcement in a custom colour was used to coat the top of the concrete bathroom counters, tying into the natural, yet luxurious aesthetic that defines GweGwe.
Every surface and detail has a strong connection to place, from thoughtful architecture designed to blend into the natural landscape, to handcrafted decor from local artisans. |
