The System
When using polystyrene as a base, the polystyrene first needs to be coated with either Cemcrete’s Wet BaseCoat or EIFS BaseCoat, depending on the application, while embedding a membrane (also available from Cemcrete) into the BaseCoat.
Please consult with your area representative for further technical and application details.
Q: What is the difference between CemCote Skimmed and SatinCrete?
A: CemCote Skimmed is a micro coating of only 1.6mm thick and SatinCrete is a 2-3mm thick coloured plaster. CemCote Skimmed can be used for interior and exterior applications and SatinCrete only for interior applications.
Q: Can my builder do the application?
A: If your painter has experience working with Cemcrete products and you feel confident in using them to do the application, then yes. Your painter can also attend our free demo days hosted at our Academy in Johannesburg. Please note attending these demo days does not mean your painter will be an experienced Cemcrete contractor. For more details of Cemcrete’s demo days or independent contractor details visit Cemcrete’s website.
Q: Do you have to seal a CemCote wall?
A: It is not necessary unless the wall is in an area that is prone to coming into contact with dirt
