The Before and After photos of your home are just incredible, how would you describe the process of using Cemcrete’s finishes during your renovation?
"The experience was phenomenal.... Watching it all come to life was an extremely exciting experience. I've always loved a concrete floor look, Cemcrete exceeded all my expectations of the final look" How would you describe the style of your home? "I've always loved making a house into a home - one that someone would see in magazines, growing up my room was always tidy & trendy. I'm one of those girls who flip through House & Home magazines for inspiration on the latest trends and try recreate them in my own home. Currently I love the Rustic Farmhouse look with a touch of Boho. My home is styled to feature all that" What was your inspiration that led you to this design style? "I’m a Woman Farmer in KZN, crazy I know but like other women in Agriculture out there I’m helping put a stop to the stigma that woman can’t do a certain job or task because of their gender. So, for me I wanted a home styled to represent that, a modern day farm house with a touch of Boho for the wild & crazy that I am." Why did you choose Cemcrete floor and wall finishes for your home? "Because it’s the best!!!! No but really all jokes aside - I wanted the rustic screed look, with a concrete that was more durable & hardier. It was actually my builder that introduced me to Cemcrete and the minute I read up about it I fell in-love. The colours & products to choose from is endless. I love the different pigments we created with ours. It’s definitely hardier & tougher with no stress of cracks or having to redo it every year. Also, my favourite - it's sooooo easy to clean!! With two kids & pets carpets were just never going to work."

What Cemcrete products and colours did you choose and why? "So, we chose the Colour hardener, Grey - for our floors and the Cemcrete Skimmed, Dark Grey - for our kitchen & bathroom counters & the backsplash for our showers. Reason for these colours (as there are sooo many to choose from) is that I'm a very neutral person when it comes to my home, I love grey, like I'm obsessed with it and having the two different contrasts really just complement each other." What is your favourite characteristic of a cement finish? "Definitely the pigment differentiation. I didn't want just plain old grey; I wanted a rustic feel. The colour splash is awesome and makes my home pop!!" Would you say Cemcrete finishes are pet-friendly? "Extremely pet friendly!! We have 3 dogs or fur babies that live in our home - with Cemcrete floors there is no need to stress about hair, seriously it's soooo easy to clean. Also being a farmer I've had to bottle feed a few lambs & calves in our home putting our floors to the ultimate test!" Any tips for prospective homeowners when choosing finishes for their homes? "Just trust the process, it can be scary at first, but the final result will not disappoint! I love my home & anyone visiting always asks how we did our floors & counters, the answer - CEMCRETE!"
